U.S. Army Future Soldier


Future Soldiers: The “1-1-1” PT test is the PFA (Physical Fitness Assessment). It is one minute of push ups, one minute of sit ups, and a one mile run. You have to pass it to ship to BCT, and you will take it again early on in BCT to place you into PT ability groups for training! The standards for Males are: 13 push ups, 17 sit ups, and an 8:30 one mile. The Standard for females are: 3 push ups, 17 sit ups, and a 10:30 one mile. 

The “2-2-2” PT test is the actual Army PT test, or the APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test). It consists of 2 minutes of push ups, 2 minutes of sit ups, and a 2 mile run. You will take this test all throughout your Army career. In BCT, you need 50 points in each event to pass. In AIT and the rest of your career, you need at least 60 points in each event to pass.
